According to her, ‘Beast of No Nation’ is no threat to her movie ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’.
The movie, ‘Beast of No Nation’, which features young Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah and Hollywood actor Idris Elba has been submitted for this year’s Ghana Movie Awards scheduled for December 30.
This according to some entertainment analysts has raised the standard in terms of quality of production of the movies that will be contesting for this year’s movie awards.
Some have also said that ‘Beast of No Nation’ stands tall amongst the other movies that will be competing at the awards and have tipped it to sweep all the awards in its category.
Speaking in an interview with KMJ on Daybreak Hitz (Showbiz Review) on Hitz FM, Yvonne said, her movie is good enough to compete with any other movie that will be nominated including ‘Beast of No Nation’.
She also criticized organizers of the awards scheme for accepting ‘Beast of No Nation’ movie adding that it is not a Ghanaian production.
“If that movie is submitted, it is not fair because it is not a Ghanaian production, the fact that it was shot in Ghana does not make it a Ghanaian movie, if we are trying to promote our own why should we go for that?” she asked.
She maintained that, “you cannot compare a Hollywood production or a movie with big budget to a Ghanaian movie the budgets are totally different.”
She was, however, optimistic that Ghana can also shoot high-quality movies if the needed funding is provided.
Touching on the rumour of her relationship with comedian Bismark the Joke, the actress said they are just entertaining their fans with those pictures they post on social media.
