Tributes have flooded social media platforms after gospel musician and preacher, Danny Nettey was reported dead Friday morning. According to reports the gospel minister who died at 2:00 AM Friday dawn was bubbly hours before and had prayers with his family before retiring to bed only to be found unconscious later at dawn.
Popular figures in the country including Ohemaa Mercy, Adjetey Anang, Anita Erskine, Joe Mettle and others have joined many Ghanaians to also pour their sad messages on their social media pages after they heard about the death of the man who was best described as one of the pioneers of Gospel music in Ghana.
Ohemaa Mercy on instagram wrote;
Jesus, keep me near the cross;
there a precious fountain,
free to all, a healing stream,
flows from Calvary’s mountain.
In the cross, in the cross,
be my glory ever,
till my raptured soul shall find
rest beyond the river.
Very sad this day…I ask lots of questions but he knows best. A humble servant of God…An inspirer he has been. A life well lived Rest in perfect peace Uncle Danny Nettey”
Joe Mettle wrote “I love you Sir. You know I love you. I just can’t believe this. I am broken but I love you Sir. For all you have been to me. You showed me love when many turned their backs at me but now you have turned your back to all of us. I love you Danny Nettey #RIP”
