Dancehall act Shatta Wale has disclosed the amount Coca Cola paid him for the Coke Studio Africa deal.
He said on Pluzz FM in Accra that he requested for $30,000 but the company agreed to pay half of it even though their initial budget was $4,200.
“I was offered $4,200 but I requested for $30,000 and we later settled on $15,000.”
I understand Coca Cola South Africa will pay $5000 which Coca Cola Kenya will pay $5,000 and Coca Cola Ghana will pay $5000.” he is reported to have told Sammy Flex on Pluzz FM
The “Dancehall King” hitmaker explaining why he made the amount he’s taking for the deal known to public said he wants his fans to be encouraged. Shatta Wale further advised his fellows to let their followers know how much they take for shows.
His unedited Facebook post read;
“I will like to see more youths take this music career as a job rather than to hype and fake. Asamoah Djan gets paid and we get to know ,Mayweather fight and we get to know how much he made..chris brown came to Ghana and we heard how much he took..What are you telling me Ghana artiste..Wake up and stop lying to the youths who see this career as a job.”
