This Is The Tall List Of Jobs Kofi Amoabeng Did Before Becoming UT Boss


UT-Boss-Prince-Kofi-AmoabengUT Boss Prince Kofi Amoabeng is seen enjoying life today but many are not preview to the kind of works he has engaged in for the past years.

He was on Accra FM entertainment show, Entertainment capital on Saturday morning to talk to DJ Premiere and on the show, he said a lot. Among the many things he said on the show is letting the world know the kind of jobs he did before becoming the founder and chief executive officer of UT Bank and the president of its parent, UT Holding.

Mr. Amoabeng said he did all kind of jobs because it was scarce to come by any between 1981 and 1997.

Even though Kofi Amoabeng could not recollect all the businesses he found himself doing within a 15 yer period, he managed to give listeners the jobs below;

1. General Merchant

2. Wine business – importing and selling wines

3. Selling calculators and office equipment

4. Selling secondhand clothes

5. Contractor

6. Air-condition business

 7. Oil business

8. Timber business

9. Teaching

He said some of these businesses were successful but others yielded no profit so he had to stop and move on to the other. According to him, he left some of the businesses for his partners because they were cheating him.

Amoabeng was born at Bososo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He attended Adisadel College in Cape Coast, Penworth Preparatory School, in Accra, and St. Peter’s Secondary School at Nkwatia. He graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon, with a bachelor’s degree in Administration (Accounting).

Kofi then attended the Military Academy in Accra and was commissioned as a Lieutenant. While in the army, studied the Royal Army Pay Corps course in Cost and Management Accountancy in Winchester, UK, returning home after a year and a half. He left the army in May 1982 because he opposed the return of the country to military rule.
